On Our Way Back Home, Our Car Turned Over, but None of Us Got Injured.

Sister Eunbi Lee (the Second High School Mission, Students' Sunday School)

At dawn on Saturday, February 13, our family was going to my grandfather's house in Byungchun, Chungnam Province in celebration of the Lunar New Year's Day. Because it had snowed a lot, the road was icy. My mom had already left earlier on Friday. My dad was driving, and I was sitting in the front seat and my sister in the back seat. I fell sound asleep. I suddenly woke up to a banging sound and the impact. Our car slipped on the icy road and fell off a cliff down about 5 meters. The car was turned completely up-side down. However, my family experienced God's protection within the space of God. I only had a little pain in my head and my back, and it all disappeared after I received the Senior Pastor's 'Prayer for the Sick' on the telephonic ARS. My dad only had a little injury on his leg.
Previously, I enjoyed watching entertainment TV programs in Sunday evening after coming home from church, but I stopped watching them after listening to the sermons about keeping the Sabbath holy. I listened to hymn songs instead of worldly music. I realized that God was pleased with my deeds and protected us from a huge accident.

Fw: 236-The Healing of Deafness Is Happening

The Healing of Deafness Is Happening

The number of people who have hearing disabilities including deafness, tinnitus, and otitis media, is increasing because of the noise in their lives or accidents. Once our hearing is damaged, it is hard to recover; so we have to take good care of our ears. While the powerful works of God are being manifested through Dr. Jaerock Lee more greatly and quickly, some affected members received healing even during the service and many miracles have taken place. The following are the cases of the recovery of hearing by the power of God.

"In the Middle of the Service, I Began to Hear the Sermons Clearly"

Sister Myung-yup Ryu (1st Parish, Light and Salt Mission)

While working in a textile factory in 1990s, I felt my ears ringing because of the deafening noise from the machines. Beginning one day, some sticky water-like substance came out from my ear and it later turned into a seepage of bloody pus. Even though I couldn't even hear what people who were right next to me said, I had to endure to earn a living. At last, I left the workplace and started working at a department store. But still, I had problems talking with customers.
When I visited the otolaryngology in 2007, the doctor recommended that I wear a hearing aid. Even though I desperately wanted to hear, I hesitated and didn't wear it because of appearance. But I had to face many difficulties while working. When I looked at the customer's lips during the conversation, cold sweats broke out on my back. I became afraid of even answering the phone.
To make matters worse, I had tinnitus for the past 2 years and couldn't sleep well at night because of buzzing sound in the ears. Each day was pain after pain. I was heading toward the world neglecting my Christian life. I only went to church on Sunday and did not pay the tithe. I wanted to fill the void in my heart watching TV programs. Since I also had arthritis in my knees, there was nothing else I could do but quit working.
After I was visited by the Guidance Pastor of Light and Salt Mission on November 1, 2009, I repented of my unfaithful Christian life and then came to Senior Pastor and received his prayer. From the following day, I started attending the Two Consecutive Special Daniel Prayer Meetings and the Divine Healing Meeting (Manmin Prayer Center) every day, and I thoroughly repented of the past wrongdoings with tears. As I tried to live by the word of God and attended the worship services, God finally healed me of the arthritis in my knees.
I continued to experience the love of God. On last January 31, during the Sunday Morning Service, I received much grace through the sermon and kept responding with 'amen' and tears. When the sermon was almost over, I could hear the preacher more clearly. I thought someone turned up the volume, so I asked a person who was sitting next to me, "Did they turn up the volume? It sounds so loud!" She answered, "It does? But it sounds just the same to me."
At the moment, I realized that chronic otitis media was healed and I recovered my hearing. I had hardly been able to hear soft sounds, but from that point on, I could clearly hear even the soft sounds. I give glory to God and I also want to thank Senior Pastor for his prayer with love.

"Now I Can Hear without Hearing Aid"

Deaconess Yongrae Cheon (8th Parish, 5-2 Women's Mission)

In my childhood I had an accident in which I fell into a stream, and since then I could hardly hear with my right ear from otitis media for 25 years. What was worse, someone slapped me in the face six years ago. Since then, water oozed out from my left ear and the hearing got worse and worse, so I finally had to wear a hearing aid.
Despite bad hearing, I often evangelized on the streets with Manmin News for years. From a couple of months ago, I distributed 1,000 copies a week with the help of Cell Leader Deaconess Songhee Shin. On the night of January 22, I received the prayer from Senior Pastor for the recovery of hearing before Friday All-night Service. On the following morning, when I was putting on the hearing aid, I found out that I could hear well without the hearing aid.

"My life Is Happier since I Can Now Hear Better"

Brother Choi (27th Parish, North Korean Refugees' Mission)

In 1951, during the Korean War, I was helping the Korean army as a 16-year-old. I was captured and a captive of the North Korean Army. I was misunderstood to be a spy and had to suffer from severe torture and was beaten a lot. Because of this, both of my eardrums were damaged; so I could hardly hear.
In 2003, I left the North Korea and became a refugee. But with bad hearing, I had fears about everything. There was a time last year when I lost interest in Christian life and didn't come to church for several months. Recently, I started attending the church just habitually. On last January 29, I received Senior Pastor's prayer with other members of North Korean Refugees' Mission to receive benefits as a man of national merit. Much to my surprise, I began to hear Senior Pastor's sermon very clearly during Sunday Morning Service on January 31. God healed me during the service even though I didn't receive his prayer for the recovery of hearing. God is surely living. My life is happier with better hearing.

"I Was Living Unwillingly and a Miracle Happened to Me"

Sister Myungsun Park (Chang-won Manmin Church)

A year ago, I was hospitalized for a long time due to surgery to put an artificial joint into my knee. Since then, both of my ears began to lose hearing and I couldn't hear well.
I was suffering in many parts of my body when someone came to me with the purpose of evangelism. She was Senior Deaconess Myungsoo Cho. I began to attend Chang-won Manmin Church. Though my house was an hour away from the church, I diligently attended the worship services and tried my best to receive healing by God's power with faith. On last January 29, I went to Seoul for the healing of diseases and received the prayer from Senior Pastor. In the van on our way back to Chang-won, something amazing happened. I had been able to hear only when someone talked closely directly into my ears in a loud voice, but suddenly I could hear quiet sounds even without a hearing aid. Hallelujah!

Guidance to the Power of God

Innate blindness and deafness are incurable with the modern medicine. But if we ask for the power of God the Creator through faith, we can experience biblical miracles that are happening even today (Hebrews 13:8; Ephesians 4:13). If dead or degraded nerve cells were revived, or if a man who was blind from birth came to see, or if a deaf man came to hear, we can say they were healed by the power of God through a person whose faith reached the measure of Jesus Christ.

Fw: 235-My Family Is Experiencing Happiness since My Wife and Parents Were Led to the Church by the Blessing of Conception

My Family Is Experiencing Happiness since My Wife and Parents Were Led to the Church by the Blessing of Conception

Deacon Soo Kim
(The 6th Parish, the Criminal Investigation Department of Geumcheon Police Station)

I am Sergeant Soo Kim. I work in the Criminal Investigation Department of Geumcheon Police Station. I want to tell you about the happy changes that came upon our family since I met God.
My wife was a Catholic and was baptized when she was 2 years old. She didn't go to Catholic church regularly from the time of her high school graduation but she kept St. Mary's statue and the cross in her room. When I began to go to church, she said, "I am not opposed to your going to church but don't tell me to go there with you." When I came back home from the church saturated with the first love of the Lord, I listened to the sermons on the Internet and read Dr. Jaerock Lee's books. Being uncomfortable about this, she often said, "Will you listen to them alone!" or "Please, turn down the volume!" Whenever she said that, I just answered, "Okay, I am sorry."
Because I had a quick and hot temper, I often had quarrels with my wife. And I spoke in a way that sounded like I was commanding or instructing others and easily lost my temper. However, I deeply realized how wrong I was as I heard the word of life. I began to change into a gentle person. With respect to my wife, I changed the way I spoke like, "What do you think?" or "How about this way?"
As I was changed, my wife began to open the door of her heart. Even though she didn't go to church with me, she attended Sunday worship services on the internet at home. How thankful I was! My wife was becoming a Manmin member listening to Senior Pastor's sermons and watching the powerful works of God.
However, we had one concern that nobody knew. It had been a long time since we were married and we were still childless. At first I wasn't so concerned thinking, 'We could have a baby anytime.' But as my brother had a baby after marriage and when it had been over 10 years since our marriage, I became nervous. My wife didn't have any problem in her body at the medical examination. By the help of modern medicine, we tried to conceive when there was a high possibility. But, it didn't work.
But, I heard many cases of healing by the power of God every week since I was led to this church and registered on August 29, 2007. I also heard a testimony that one of our members who had been childless for 22 years but gave birth to a son after receiving the prayer. Particularly, I heard the happy news from Deacon Busam Kim who is a reporter in The Sisa News and a member of our district. Deacon Kim's wife also received the blessing of conception through Senior Pastor's prayer after she couldn't get pregnant for years after their marriage. I used to sit on the same row with this couple during the worship services. Seeing his wife's belly getting bigger with a child, I came to have hope.
When it had been about 4 months since I attended the church, I learned the importance of paying the whole tithe from the Parish Leader Pastor Mikyung Hwang. From that point on, I paid the whole tithe and tried to live by the word so I had faith that we could receive the blessing of conception by Senior Pastor's prayer.
Soon after we received the Senior Pastor's prayer for the blessing of conception on January 25, 2008, we were blessed to conceive a baby. At last, on January 24, 2009, when it had been 12 years since our marriage, our pretty daughter So-eun was born. In August of the year, my joy and happiness doubled as my wife started attending the church with me.
There is a person to whom I am very thankful. He is Elder Joong-ik Chun, who guided me to this church and lead a happy life in the Lord. In early March 2007, when I was assigned to the Control Center of Geumcheon Police Station, he was working as the Head of the Center.
Though I hadn't worked with him except having worked with him in the neighborhood patrol only once a few years ago, I felt comfortable whenever I saw him. And he tried to lead people to the church whenever he could. He once told me, "When you look around, there is many an evidence of creation. For an easy example, consider the tremendous number of people on the earth. Regardless of race, everyone has two eyes, two ears, one nose with two nostrils, and one mouth. Even though each animal has slight differences according to its species, it has the same facial structures as well."
As time passed, my heart was moved, and I finally thought I surely had to accept the Lord. One day Elder Chun handed me over Senior Pastor's testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death. It was so interesting that I finished reading it quickly and read The Message of the Cross, Heaven, Hell, and The Measure of Faith as well. The more I read these books, the more I came to have faith so eventually I registered in the church. I'd like to express my sincere thanks to Elder Joong-ik Chun through this testimony. For the Lord's love and grace was so great, I decided to guide my parents and Brother Myungsup Chang, one of my colleagues, to the church. A year after I started praying, Brother Myungsup Chang registered the church on March 22, 2009.
Brother Chang belongs to the Moonsung Region of the Geumcheon Police Station. He is leading a diligent Christian life, and even though his work as a policeman is very demanding, he attends worship services to live by the word of God. In October of last year, Brother Chang rushed into the flames and rescued Mrs. Lee who was 90 years old at that time. This was reported on KBS News and he received the citation from the Korean National Police Agency (see the related article on Manmin News Issue No. 157).
My Parents' registering as members brought me great joy and happiness. My Father was a stubborn-hearted person. When I told him about the gospel, he strongly refused saying 'I would rather go to hell than to go to church.' After I was certain of the existence of Heaven and Hell, I always thought about my parents. I prayed that God would move my father's heart. He was lukewarm at first, but as good things happened—he had a granddaughter after we received blessing of conceptions in the 12th year of our marriage—I felt the door to his heart opened.
One day, his heart was burdened by inheritance issues. Even as the eldest son, I empted my heart and pleaded with him saying, "Father, I don't mind whether I receive the inheritance or not. It's your decision. But I want you to go to church with me because I love you." Surprisingly, he answered, "Okay, I'll go to church." Eventually, in April 2009, he began to attend the church, and my mother who was attending a different church also registered in May. I give all the thanks and glory to God and I also want to thank Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee for leading me with love and prayer.

Fw: 234-I Received a Special Promotion by Wisdom Given by God

I Received a Special Promotion by Wisdom Given by God

Deacon Jaesik Son (Busan Manmin Holiness Church)

I was always tied up at work as a normal salesman. Led by my wife, I registered at Busan Manmin Holiness Church in April, 1996, but I didn't have any spiritual experience.
In February 2003, I had this turning point in my Christian life. My father was sick in bed with cancer. The members of my family gathered their hearts for his salvation. Letting him receive Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer, they held onto God with fasting and prayer. Finally, my father accepted the Lord. He saw Heaven with his spiritual eyes open, and a week later, he peacefully drew his last breath. Seeing this, I came to believe in the existence of Heaven and Hell. In addition, a few years ago, I was healed of urolithiasis by receiving the 'Prayer for the Sick' through ARS on the phone and my faith grew even more with this experience.
Working in 'A' Company, I carried out God-given duties as President of the 1st Men's Mission, a member of Construction Committee, Head of Transportation Department, Leader of the Choir and the like. One day, my wife and I received Senior Pastor's prayer with the prayer title, 'Bless me to become the head in my workplace.'
In May of 2006, I was appointed as the Manager of Gwangju Branch. I had to live far away from my family. But I later realized all of this was the way to blessing. At that time, the sales figures of Gwangju branch was the lowest of all domestic branches. The job was to sell pharmaceutical products that are distributed to hospitals or pharmacies. At first, I was really at a loss. I didn't know what to do in that unfamiliar city where I didn't have any acquaintances. Almost on a biweekly basis, I came to Busan and kept the Sabbath with my family and again left for Gwangju at 5 AM on Monday. I was lonely as well as tired.
The first thing I had to do was to increase the sales figures at the Gwangju branch. On Mondays, I arrived at the office earlier than others and started working by listening to the 'Day Staring Prayer' via the telephonic ARS. I changed the office into a cozy atmosphere so that the staff could work hard in a home-like environment. I tried to give strength and encourage them rather than to point out their mistakes or rebuke them. And I also took care of their family affairs so that their families might be in peace. Also I sent them on a domestic or overseas trip as a bonus or boost the morale through fellowship meetings such as mountain climbing and picnics. Particularly, I tried to make those who were treating customers work with a comfortable heart so that they could work to their full potentials. As a result, all the staffs were united as one in heart and tried their best in their work. The sale figure got increasingly higher and finally won the first place of all domestic branches in just three months I took charge of the branch. God did bless me as I acted according to the word.
One day I asked the head office if could transfer to Seoul or Daejeon branch I wanted to focus more on my God-given duties in Busan Manmin Holiness Church and spend more time with my family. The person in charge became rather embarrassed because I achieved excellent sales figures at Gwangju branch. He said there wasn't a position anymore. My wife always prayed for the growth of my faith and the workplace. She also didn't forget to go to Seoul and receive the prayer from Senior Pastor with faith on my behalf.
Finally, on February 1, 2009, I was appointed as the Manager of Daejeon branch. It was an answer to the prayer. I could go to Deajeon from Busan by KTX (Korea Train Express) and it only took 1 hour and 40 minutes. So, I was happy because I could do the church works more at Busan Manmin Holiness Church and have fellowship with the members.
While working at Daejeon branch, I received a significant position that I supported the Gwangju and Jeonju branches. Also, Deajeon branch had the lowest sales figures just like Gwangju branch had the lowest sales figures when I first started working there. Having learned know-how to God's blessing, I also worked diligently there praying and serving the staff. Surprisingly, this branch also won the first place in sales figures from April to December 2009.
That's not all, on January 1, I received a special promotion to a position where I managed 16 branches while working at the head office in Seoul. I give all the thanks and glory to God, and I also want to express thanks to Senior Pastor who prayed for me.

Fw: 233-A Forty-eight Year-Old Woman Passed the Qualification Examination for College Entrance

A Forty-eight Year-Old Woman Passed the Qualification Examination for College Entrance

Senior Deaconess Insook Park (District Leader of the 21st Parish)

Due to financial difficulty of my family, I couldn't go on to a middle school and instead started earning money. I comforted myself thinking I could study again sometime later.
Many years passed and I became a 48-year-old housewife. Being always busy, I didn't realize the lack of education would be a handicap in social life. Before I registered in our church, I prepared for the qualification examination for middle school entrance. But I failed two times. I decided to give up because I lost confidence and didn't have enough time to prepare.
One day, Senior Pastor preached in his sermon that church workers should be qualified both in spirit and in flesh to take care of countless souls who will come to church. I wanted to challenge the entrance requirements again. Moreover, carrying out a God-given duty as a district leader, I realized the necessity of education even more. I wanted to understand the Bible more deeply and gain confidence when I treated the members of various backgrounds. I thought I shouldn't neglect my duty given by God. So, I received the counsel of the Parish Leader Pastor Hakyoung Lim about this matter, and he encouraged me to challenge.
So in 2008, I took care of the district members during the day and prepared for qualification examination for high school entrance at night. Even though I failed two times previously, I passed the 4 of the 7 subjects so I could study easier. If one gets a score of more than 60 points in a specific subject, he is exempt from this subject at the next test.
I visited the members during the day and made sure I attended Daniel Prayer Meeting at night. I prayed that God might give me wisdom and ability and so that I could study without fatigue. With passion toward souls, I took care of district members during the day and studied at night. Even though I was very busy with God-given duties, I could carry them out with pleasure because I had an assurance I would pass the exam if God was on my side. Seeing this heart and faith, God was on my side and helped me. Including my husband, all my family members became strong supporters of my challenge.
As a result, I studied the three subjects English, math, and science that I couldn't pass in 2008 after 5 months and passed the qualification examination for high school entrance. From February 2009 for 70 days, I prepared for the qualification examination for college entrance and finally passed it! Through this experience I came to have firmer faith that anything can be made possible within the Lord. I give thanks to the Lord.

Fw: 232-My Wife Gave Birth to a Baby without amniotic fluid. Hallelujah!

My Wife Gave Birth to a Baby without amniotic fluid. Hallelujah!

Deacon Jonghoon Choi
(Sub-district Leader of 12-1st Parish)

Deacon Jonghoon Choi and his family look happy with his youngest daughter Hana.

We have three lovely daughters. They are Ha-eun, 8, Hayoung, 6, and Hana who was born recently. They are all growing up well amidst God's grace. Among them, the youngest Hana was born by the special love and grace of God.
In latter December of 2007, I unfortunately had some financial deals with one of the church members. My wife and I greatly suffered from the pressure of the moneylender paying the interest which was millions of won (thousands of dollars in US currency) a month. Because of this difficulty caused by myself, my wife Deaconess Hyungjung Lee had a very hard time, and we often had quarrels with each other. Meanwhile, she got pregnant in May, 2009 and she had a discharge of blood from the beginning of her pregnancy. Thinking she might have a miscarriage, I took her to the hospital and fortunately nothing was wrong. On September 18, when we were offering Friday All-night Service, my wife said something like thick water was wetting her legs.
"Oh my God, what is this?"
"Darling, I am discharging blood, my skirt's getting all wet!"
It kept coming out until the seat cover was wet. At that time I thought it was blood because she was wearing a reddish skirt. So I didn't think it as very serious for it had sometimes happened previously. She was 19 weeks pregnant at that time. A few days later, I found my wife's belly had become thin. "Wife! I think there's something wrong with your belly. It became so thin! We'd better go see an obstetrician and check."
On September 28, 2009, she had an ultra-sonogram at a neighborhood hospital and found out she had little amniotic fluid. Amniotic fluid is the thick liquid contained by the amniotic sac of a pregnant woman, and it helps the growth of the fetus and it comes out when the baby is born helping an easy delivery. The doctor recommended that we move to a bigger hospital saying that she was in a critical condition. On September 30, she was diagnosed with oligohydramnios and was hospitalized.
I wondered why she was in that kind of situation. I thought one of the reasons was a discord between me and my wife. But most of all, I committed a grave sin that I made a financial deal and became a guarantor for debts disobeying the word of God (Proverbs 22:26). I thoroughly repented with tears at the moment I realized this. I was so sorry for my wife and children who were suffering because of me. I went to Senior Pastor and repented. Then, Senior Pastor comforted us giving us words of warm love and advice. I determined to become not only a faithful worker of God but a good husband and father to my wife and children. My wife understood my heart with pleasure and also decided to depend only on God from that time on.
"Let us commit everything to God. God will work for us if we receive the Senior Pastor's prayer with faith."
"Of course, He will! We will receive His answers!"
We showed our faith before God. We weren't worried anymore thinking 'What if something happens to our baby?'
On Sunday of October 4, I went to Senior Pastor and received his prayer. My heart was at peace. "There was another member who gave birth to a baby without amniotic fluid not long after the church was founded," said the Senior Pastor as soon as he finished his prayer. I answered with faith saying, "Amen." My wife who was at the hospital at that time also accepted it with faith as she heard about this, and she became peaceful as well. Normally, drinking water and injection of dextrose cause the amnion to have more amniotic fluid. But strangely after receiving Senior Pastor's prayer, more water flowed out from the damaged amnion. It came out too much to the point she had to change her sanitary pads couple of times a day and even her underwear got soaked. But we kept praying all the more diligently with a faith that God would let us give birth to a healthy baby by Senior Pastor's prayer which is guaranteed by God.
From a medical viewpoint, if amnion is damaged and infected with germs, a pregnant woman might be in a critical state or she might have a miscarriage. And without amniotic fluid in the amnion, it's hard for a fetus to grow and stay in a proper temperature and there is a high chance of the pregnant woman giving birth to a deformed baby.
She spent over four more months in this condition that she almost had no amniotic fluid. No one can deny the powerful works of God which have been manifested by Senior Pastor's prayer. We later realized the reason that Senior Pastor told me about a member who delivered a baby without amniotic fluid was to give us faith and assurance. We always made a profession of faith that we would glorify God by safe delivery because Senior Pastor gave us a prayer of blessing.0
On January 3, 2010, when it was month before the due date, we received Senior Pastor's prayer for the delivery. "God Father, Please let the baby be born healthy and at a normal weight. God worked so quickly. Three days after we received his prayer, we gave birth to a healthy baby before the due date. This was when she had been pregnant for nine months (35 weeks). At the moment we took an ultra sonogram of the baby, she weighted only 2.02 kg. But in just three days, the weight increased by 600g and she was born at 2.6 kg by the prayer. Right before she was born, the doctor said the baby would probably have to enter the intensive care unit or be placed in the incubator. But how would the doctor possibly imagine that the amazing work of God would happen!

Fw: 231-I Am Thankful to God Who Healed My Son Who Was Close to Death

I Am Thankful to God Who Healed My Son Who Was Close to Death

Minister Deborah Hwang (Singapore)

With the youngest son David (the second from right of the front row), who was at a critical state but received healing and became healthy

"I am thankful to God for not only healing my youngest son who was on the verse of dying, but also for increasing our faith through this experience."
When it had been about 30 days from the time that David Eu Junior, our youngest son, had been born, his belly swelled up with fever. My husband and I thought it was just gastrodynia and prayed for him with the handkerchief of power. However, ten days later his body temperature rose to 40 degrees C (104 F) without any improvement.
My husband (David Eu) is a medical doctor. He said, "He seems to have a viral infection. If so, then he can't be healed with medications." We just waited for him to recover while administering handkerchief prayers over him. But the fever wouldn't stop even in 10 days, so we examined his blood and urine in pediatrics on November 30, 2009.
The doctor diagnosed him with urinary tract infection and said that he had to take antibiotics. He also added that the baby was in a critical medical state indicating that the white blood cell count and CRP (C-Reactive Protein) in his urine was well above the normal level. Finally, on December 3, his belly swelled up with fever and got stiff. He also showed symptoms of nausea.
My husband said that it was peritonitis. At the moment, I remembered members of Manmin Central Church who were healed of peritonitis, so we requested prayer from Dr. Jaerock Lee. Following Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer, his stiff belly became relaxed a little. But a few days later, pus continued to come out from his anus, and he had red spots on his skin. What is worse, he showed symptoms of jaundice and hepatitis.
We were certain that the almighty God would heal my son. And we repented having not kept the Sabbath holy, not having paid the whole tithe, having condemned others and for our arrogance.
"My husband and I discovered ourselves. Although we were listening to the holiness gospel we found that we still loved worldly things. Through our sick baby we truly repented. We believed our baby would be healed perfectly if Senior Pastor would pray for him."
After repenting before God, we sent an email along with a photo to Manmin Central Church and requested Senior Pastor's prayer. After Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee prayed during the Friday All-night Service on December 4, 2009, Sunday Morning Service on January 6, and Friday All-night Service on January 11, the healing work happened transcending space and time. His urinary tract infection and sepsis disappeared, and his belly, which had been swollen up, relaxed dramatically.
Not only did the symptoms of peritonitis completely go away, but the pus coming out from his anus stopped and the red spots on his skin disappeared. By Dr. Jaerock Lee's prayer, the healing work took place really quickly. At the medical checkup taken at the hospital on December 30 we found that our son had become totally normal. Hallelujah!
Now David is growing up well. Through this experience, we received comprehensive blessing; not only did our faith grow, but our children became healthier than ever.
We have made up our minds to strive to become people of spirit who are God-pleasing children of God in 2010. And I hope that my parents and other family members living in New Zealand can hear and listen to the holiness gospel as well.

David Eu Junior, who was in a critical medical state with a urinary tract infection and sepsis, but became normal by the prayer of Dr. Jaerock Lee

# On last December 31, 2009 Deborah Hwang and her husband David Eu came to Korea from Singapore to visit our church along with their son David Eu Junior. This visit was to express thanks for the healing of their youngest son David by Dr. Jaerock Lee's time-and-space-transcending prayer and to attend the New Year's Service at our church. She was born in Malaysia and was raised in a Christian family. She immigrated to New Zealand when she was 18 and has lived in Singapore since she was 28.

# She came to know about our church in 2007 when she was working as a producer and was in charge of overseas ministry in Far East Broadcasting Company-Singapore. She received the book authored by Dr. Jaerock Lee The Measure of Faith from her mother-in-law, Pastor Mary Eu, and read it. Her heart was greatly moved by the book, and she heard the voice of Holy Spirit that said 'This is what you should broadcast in your program.' After this, she wanted to visit Korea and meet Senior Pastor but couldn't decide to do it. But she again heard the voice of the Holy Spirit saying 'Go! Then you will hear what you couldn't hear in Singapore.' Meanwhile her mother-in-law, Pastor Mary Eu also wanted to visit Korea after reading Dr. Jaerock Lee's book, Heaven. Eventually, she visited our church with Deborah Ting, who is currently dedicated to the literary mission in Malaysia.
"I was very impressed when I met Dr. Jaerock Lee in person. Although he is a pastor who has led huge overseas crusades and manifested great power of God, he was very gentle and humble."
Receiving a lot of grace at her first visit, she returned to Singapore and told her husband about it. When she visited Manmin Central Church again 2 weeks later with her husband, there was Pastors' Seminar with the Speaker Pastor Dongcho Shin. While she was attending the seminar, she gained a deeper understanding of the holiness gospel and spiritual realm.

# She received much grace through Dr. Jaerock Lee's testimonial memoirs Tasting Eternal Life before Death; and the books My Life, My Faith I and II. She also received grace through Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermon series' The Message of the Cross, Heaven I, Heaven II and Hell. The books clearly explained to her about true faith and salvation, Heaven and Hell, and filled her with joy by giving her more hope for New Jerusalem. She had led a Chinese gospel program for 2 hours each day from the second part of 2007 to 2008 using these books by Dr. Jaerock Lee.
"This program was broadcast in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia as well as in China, and it was a fresh spiritual shock of awakening for many souls. Many listeners were deeply impressed and ordered the program on CDs"

# She is now making Dr. Jaerock Lee's books in audio books using her talents.
She has a special grace and longing toward the holiness gospel, so at his point she has now come to Korea to visit our church 7 times. She realized how important the circumcision of her heart was and is never lazy in the growth of her faith and trying to resemble the Lord as well. Through this faith and these deeds she could show her faith even when her youngest son, David, was in such a critical medical situation with several diseases.

Fw: 230-[Interviews with Church Workers] I Have a Wish that I Want to Accomplish This Year

[Interviews with Church Workers] I Have a Wish that I Want to Accomplish This Year

We Interviewed Workers Who Accomplished Revival in Their Mission or Parish during the Last Year and Asked Their Wishes for the New Year 2010.

"I hope to carry out God-given duties successfully with a good heart"

Deaconess Yunsook Ryu

# "During the year 2009, our group members experienced spiritual growth along with revival by proclaiming that we would send out the aroma of goodness. As a result, I was blessed to be appointed as a senior group leader this year. Of course, I attribute this to our members' help with offerings and their hearts and also to the support of my husband who prepared refreshments for group meetings.
I hope that I can carry out my God-given duty well as the Senior Group Leader of 1-4 Women's Mission by accomplishing a better heart. In addition, I want to become an excellent wife who makes a happier family by supporting my husband well and evangelizing my husband's family."

"I hope to be with those who are neglected and discouraged"

Deacon Euljong Kim

# "I am so much happy because God poured joy and happiness in my heart as I bore the fruit of revival. Those who climb a mountain say they feel exhausted while going up the mountain, but they feel overwhelming happiness when they reach the summit.
For me it is much the same when visiting members. The joy of serving and sharing that we gain while visiting members can't be found anywhere else. My God-given duty as the President of 2-4 Men's Mission last year was a blessing.
In this new year, I want to visit the members more diligently and share both the joys and sadness with those who are wondering, who are neglected and those who are discouraged without knowing the truth,."

"I will make sure I read one chapter of the Bible and memorize one verse every day"

Sister Hae-eun Ahn

# "I didn't read the Bible very often with the excuse that I was too busy. Time passed while I just thought 'I should no longer put off reading the Bible.' Because I didn't study the word of God, taking care of group members sometimes seemed difficult. I make up my mind that I arm myself with words to carry out God-given duties well as the President of the 2nd Young Adults' Mission. I want to be able to memorize the Bible verses carried on the weekly bulletin and read at least one chapter of the Bible every day despite my busy schedule. And I will also try to meditate on various messages preached during services and thereby eat spiritual bread. It won't be demanding or difficult at all if I keep trying to move toward these goals. I pray to the Lord that I might keep my resolutions without changing."

"I want my family to become more united as one through family worship"

Deaconess Haesook Lee

# "I don't think that it should be that difficult to become a good and thoughtful wife and kind-hearted mother in the family.
The reason is because we are already changing into good children of God day by day with the word of life, prayer and teachings of the shepherd. We are trying to accomplish happy families in the Lord though they might not be perfect in God's sight right now. So we keep praying to become a family that is pleasing to God. In this New Year, we want to become more united as one by sharing the Lord's love with one another through family worship.
I want to commit our family to the Lord so that He can directly lead our family. Also, I wish to take care of the lovely cell members as the Cell Leader of 22nd Parish.
I want to bear the fruit of evangelism by giving out the aroma of Christ in my workplace."

"I wish to pray fervently attending Daniel Prayer Meeting"

Deaconess Myungsook Park

# "In 2009 it was the year of comprehensive blessing. We had revival of the sub-district where I had charge, my husband was ordained as an elder, we had material blessing and our children received blessings in both spirit and in flesh.
All of this was the grace of the Lord and an answer to my prayer offered through the Daniel Prayer Meeting we attend from 9 PM to 11:40 PM every night. I shed many tears receiving much grace in prayer. For I know that God knows about everything and answers our prayer, I'd like to diligently attend Daniel Prayer Meeting and pray more fervently in this New Year. I will try to arrive earlier at the church and prepare with prayer before Daniel Prayer Meeting starts.
I want to pray with faith and love until the meeting finishes with the Lord's Prayer. I also wish to accomplish more than threefold revival as the Sub-district Leader of 13th Parish, not only accomplishing sanctification, but being faithful in all God's house."

"I want to become hands and feet of the members with transportation service"

Elder Kiho Kim

# "Even though I am busy with my work, I am delighted and happy for I can take care of the district members. The 23rd Parish covers Goyang and Paju of Gyeonggi Province.
Because they are far away from the church, it's necessary to transport members to the church. This serves as an 'ark of salvation' to members who are old or crippled. I made up my mind to lead a more diligent life in this New Year.
The more I sacrifice myself, the happier members will become, and when I share love and serve others, God pours joy and happiness 100 times more upon me.
And I am thankful to God for blessing me that my van can be used in salvation of souls.
In this New Year, I hope that I become hands and feet to members with transportation service as a district leader and thereby members' faith grows more and more."

Fw: 229-[People] We Are Offering up Prayer upon Prayer - Prayer Devotees Who Were the Source of Strength to the Church Growth

[People] We Are Offering up Prayer upon Prayer - Prayer Devotees Who Were the Source of Strength to the Church Growth

Senior Deaconess Sungsoon Wui, President of Prayer Devotees' Mission and members are praying for the kingdom of God; for the church, Senior Pastor, the Lord's servants, national evangelization, world mission, the congregation, etc.

We visited members of Prayer Devotees' Mission who are dedicating their lives through prayer. We thought the atmosphere would be only holy and quiet for they are praying over 6 hours a day. But, one thing we found in particular was that there was a lot of laughing in the place!
"Prayer seems to make us young." They looked energetic because of the life of prayer. And there were overflowing testimonies from their lips. To those who ask them "Does prayer provide you with any bread?" or "How can you take care of your family if you pray day and night?" Their answers follow.
"Because we prayed for the kingdom of God and the congregation for hours each day, our family became more peaceful, and we received material blessing as well. Most of all, we received the blessing of our souls prospering through prayer."
It is just as it is written in Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." But above all, members of Prayer Devotees' Mission confess that they were most thankful for the fact that the church was protected by prayer in difficult times and overseas crusades were successfully held and greatly glorified God.

# Isn't It Demanding to Pray All Day Long?

It could be hard to pray for a long time. But prayer devotees are fulfilling their duties with joy and thankfulness while they are looking up at the rewards in heaven. Their faces are bright with happiness because they have faith.
After communicating with God in prayer, they have fellowship through a group meeting at lunchtime. This too is a source of strength in their life of faith.
They are workers who are faithful not only in prayer but also in many areas of the church. During the weekdays they concentrate on prayer and on the Sabbath day, they are working faithfully as offertory guides, ushers and choir members, and some of them volunteer at the kitchen of the Fellowship Room. Especially, they are in charge of serving patients during lunch time.
All these faithful prayer devotees share one hope. This is what they confess: "How could I pay back the grace of Father God and the shepherd? I want to quickly become a man of spirit and then whole spirit and thereby become strength to the church and the shepherd with prayer of deeper aroma of goodness."

# Faithfulness! Daily Schedule of Prayer Devotees

There are 171 members including 20 members in special group and 17 layman devotees in Prayer Devotees' Mission. They have a morning prayer meeting (from 10:30 AM to 12 PM) and afternoon prayer meeting (from 1PM to 3PM) from Monday through Friday, and they attend Daniel Prayer Meeting every night.
In the morning normal prayer devotees have morning prayer or attend the meeting led by President Boknim Lee (Manmin Prayer Center). When they pray and praise together with the patients and earnestly pray for them laying hand on their shoulders or hugging them, tears come from the depth of heart. After they pray with patients and members, joy and fullness are given from above.
During joyful lunchtime, they gather together in their groups and eat at the church restaurant. A cup of coffee they drink after eating tastes so sweet that all the fatigue seems to go away. At 1 PM, they again gather at the prayer place and start praying with topics such as Senior Pastor and the Lord's servants, the construction of sanctuary, revival at the worship services, church finances, Manmin Prayer Center, national evangelization, world mission, and relief to name but a few.
Layman prayer devotees pray from 8 PM to 8:40 PM after work.

# I Want to Know about Prayer Devotees

The Prayer Devotees' Mission consists of 19 groups according to member's date and year of birth. And each group prays for specific departments, missions and church organizations assigned to them. For example, the first group prays for the Registration Office, General Affairs Bureau and WCDN (World Christian Doctors Network). The second group prays for the Editorial Bureau, Translation Bureau and MIS (Manmin International Seminary). The third group prays for Children's Sunday School and Manmin Kindergarten and the fourth group prays for Overseas Mission, Foreign Parish and Interpretation Department.
The prayer devotees visit the departments or missions for which they pray every 3 months or at the beginning of the year and receive the prayer topics. Then they become happy with the thoughts they are being encouragement and strength to someone and accomplishing the kingdom of God and His righteousness through prayer.

# Wish to Become a Prayer Devotee?

The age of prayer devotees ranges from 33 to 55. Particularly, Senior Deaconess Ye-soon Park, 96, still remains as an honorary member by the consideration of Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee. There are qualifications to becoming a member of Prayer Devotees' Mission (Guidance Pastor: Pastor Heesun Lee, President: Senior Deaconess Sungsoon Wui). First, they should be at least a deaconess because they must have faith. To pray without limitations, their family should become evangelized. And they have to be well aware of what is happening in the church, love the shepherd and have an earnest love toward the souls. In addition, they must be a worker who works in many areas for the kingdom of God.
All the prayer devotees are united as one in heart. Not only do they fervently pray in agreement, but they share a deep love just like family. So, this is a shortcut to becoming a man of spirit, and whole spirit. We expect church members' interest, prayer and support. The Prayer Devotees' Mission aims to have 700 people as members including 300 members of special group. Also today, all prayer devotees are offering up fiery prayer hoping for the days when they pray together with more members.

At 2009 Prayer Devotees' Mission's Devotional Service held on Sunday, May 31, representatives of devotees were glorifying God with special songs.

Who Are Prayer Devotees?

George Muller, called 'Father of Orphans in England,' fed over 2 thousand orphans in answer to his 50 thousand prayers. Saint Augustine was raised by his mother Monica's prayer of tears.
Also, our church could experience great revival thanks to the dedication of prayer devotees who have cried out in prayer day and night. Prayer devotee means people who are dedicated to God with prayer.
It started at the time the church was founded in 1982 with 6 people including the late Senior Deaconess Ae-ja Ahn, Senior Deaconess Jungsoon Lee, Senior Deaconess Sunja Choi. They considered their prayers for the nation and people, church and the construction of the sanctuary and world mission as their life. They prayed for the patients who came from all over because of the healing works manifested by Pastor Jaerock Lee at that time. They gave intercessory prayer for those people and planted faith by visiting patient's families.
Even today, all the prayer devotees are crying out in prayer without changing for the kingdom of God.

Fw: 228-My eyebrows grew back

My eyebrows grew back

Shohei Nakano (the first year of middle school, Osaka Manmin Church, Japan)

In February of 2007, when I was in the fifth year of elementary school, my mental stress reached its peak due to extra schooling and many assignments. As a result, the symptoms of atopic dermatitis that I normally had got even more serious. From constant scratching, my entire body was covered with blood and oozing pus.
With itchiness around the eyes, I scratched to the point that I lost all my eyebrows. This lasted 2 years and 3 months. I became ashamed of my appearance and even avoided meeting people.
While in elementary school, I could hide my forehead with long bangs. But things were different when I entered middle school, because as a dress code, I had to have short hair.
Pastor Marco Kim (Osaka Manmin Church) and his wife, Pastor Changmi Lee, were well aware of my problem. So they earnestly prayed for the healing of my atopic dermatitis. And they kept telling me about other members' healing testimonies and planted faith in my heart.
It was one day this June. Someone next to my class ridiculed me about my eyebrow. I came home heartbroken. As my mother saw me depressed, she asked. "Did something happen in school?"
"Someone ridiculed me at school about not having any eyebrows."
My mom said that we should give thanks and pray together, since God said, "Give thanks in all circumstances." Even though I couldn't accept this from my heart, I obeyed and made a confession of faith. I said "Thank you", and then again I said in a louder voice, "I am thankful for the boy who teased me."
After 2 weeks, the itchiness went away, and one third of my left eyebrow grew back. Pastor Changmi Lee prayed for me with the handkerchief of power (Acts 19:11-12) as often as she could. As time passed, the right eyebrow began to grow back as well. In 3 weeks, so much hair grew back that my eyebrows were dark with hair! This experience gave me big faith, and now I am leading an earnest life of faith thanks to the love of God.

Fw: 227-Fifteen Years of Playing the Guitar Was a Blessing to Me

Fifteen Years of Playing the Guitar Was a Blessing to Me

Elder Changsu Yoon (Senior Board Director, Seoul Central Insurance of Shinhan Life)

Around 8:45 p.m., a man is walking toward the front of the sanctuary of Manmin Central Church. Those who attend the Daniel Prayer Meetings every night can always see him here, exactly at the same time every day. He is Elder Changsu Yoon, who has been playing the guitar for 15 years during Daniel Prayer Meetings.
When Elder Yoon was a teenager, he wandered quite a bit because of his family problems. He went ventured out into the world at an early age and made all kinds of efforts to survive. But even though he worked very hard in his workplace, he couldn't find the true meaning of life. As a music lover, he always carried a guitar by his side for comfort. But even that didn't fill the void in his heart.
"How should I live?"
The only pleasure he had in his life was drinking after work. Most of his paycheck was spent on drinking.
"At that time, I drank strong alcohol every day for 10 years. Finally, I became an alcoholic. My face turned dark and my hands trembled."
He had already become a wretch at a young age. In 1994, when he was totally exhausted with his life, someone handed out a hopeful hand. She was Deaconess Junghee Park. She introduced Manmin Central Church to him. Standing at the dead-end of his life, he wanted to rely on God. He wanted to hear the gospel she told him. The message of Dr. Jaerock Lee was strong enough to transform his life. Day by day, he began to find the meaning of life. Whenever he could, he bought sermon tapes at the book store and listened to them, and after work, he came straight to church and prayed. His hand stopped trembling, and he was cured of his alcoholism. He even quit smoking.
By the recommendation of President Boknim Lee (Manmin Prayer Center), he started playing the guitar during Daniel Prayer Meetings in 1995. At that time, he was running a restaurant specializing in breaded cutlet. He could make ends meet only when he worked until late at night. But because of his God-given duty, he began to close his restaurant early. Since he felt his duty before God was more precious than anything else, he did not hesitate to do.
Sometimes Elder Yoon felt overwhelmingly tired and thought, "I wish I could take a rest today." But every time he changed his mind by thinking, "No, I must not!" Then he experienced God filling him with the Holy Spirit during every Daniel Prayer Meeting. When he praised God playing the guitar, he felt like he was in heaven. The designated seats for the performers near the front also became very precious to him. As he prayed with all his heart and strength, his faith grew stronger. This helped him to easily overcome the trials that he faced from time to time.
Two years after he began playing the guitar for the church, his restaurant made a big profit. He expanded his business, but he soon had to shut down his restaurant during the Korean financial crisis of 1997. He only had a few hundred thousand won (a couple hundred dollars in US currency) in hand. But he offered all of them as construction offering. He often felt weary and exhausted in his heart. However, despite his difficult situation, he didn't depend on the world, but diligently fulfilled his duty at the Daniel Prayer Meeting relying only on God. Making a positive confession of faith, he faithfully attended the Daniel Prayer Meetings.
"It didn't matter if God blessed me or not. I considered my God-given duty as all the more precious, and relied only on God."
It was only by the grace of God that he could fulfill his God-given duties without wavering for the last 15 years. After seeing his faith and deeds, God blessed him with a new workplace. He began to work as an insurance planner for an insurance company. Being an introvert by nature, he wasn't very eloquent. But from the very beginning, he had high sales figures. Thanks to an unchanging life of prayer, he was always filled with the Spirit, and one day, he even made a profit of ten million won. The amount of monthly tithes increased from 3 hundred thousand won to 4 hundred thousand ones, to 5 hundred thousand won, and finally to one million won (about 1,000 US dollars). This was all the result of walking in the right path and keeping Dr. Jaerock Lee's advice in mind.
And he was also faithful with other God-given duties in the church as well. When he received financial blessings from God, he joyfully planted mission offerings and construction offerings. Then God blessed him to be able to give two million won (about 2,000 US dollars) as monthly tithes and he was promoted to Senior Board Director of the Seoul Central Insurance of Shinhan Life.
This year he was blessed to be ordained as an elder. As he began to change, his family also came to be evangelized. "All of this was by the grace of the Lord and the teachings and love of the shepherd." He confesses, "From now on, as an elder, I wish to love church even more, and run passionately toward New Jerusalem."

Fw: 226-I Couldn't Hear¡| But I Can Hear Well Now

I Couldn't Hear¡¦ But I Can Hear Well Now

Senior Deaconess Yeonjung Go (1-7 Parish, 3-2 Women's Mission)

"What, what's happening to my ear?"
On the morning of August 26, 2009, my ear was ringing and I couldn't hear well. I thought it would be OK the next day, but it didn't get better. After an examination at the otolaryngology, I was diagnosed with sudden hearing difficulty of the right ear. The doctor recommended that I visit a bigger hospital.
"Why is this happening to me? What if I can't hear for the rest of my life?"
I had an assurance that I would be healed if I repented and received prayer. I tried to find the area of my life that prevented me from being fully protected by God. As I looked back at myself, I was reminded of this past: I remember feeling uncomfortable when I was demoted to sub-district leader, after becoming district leader, I complained rather than rejoicing in all circumstances, and I also repented for the time I had an abortion before I met Christ, when I didn't know any better.
Last August 28, I went to Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee before Friday all-night service and received his prayer. He prayed, "Father, please forgive this daughter of her sins and transgressions and quickly heal her!" The following morning, I experienced a miracle. I could clearly hear people talking! It was so astonishing. At the medical check-up at the hospital, my right ear was 20(dB), and normal! I praise God, who doesn't even remember our transgressions as far as the east is from the west, when we repent with all our hearts.

Fw: 225-Lord, Help My Son - God Answered through the Power of the Shepherd

Lord, Help My Son - God Answered through the Power of the Shepherd

Deaconess Mugunghwa Kim
(1-4 Parish, 2-5 Women's Mission)

It was March of 1991, when I worked as a middle school teacher. I had been very busy and tired because it was the beginning of the new semester. On one particular day, I had laid my baby down by my side and was feeding him with his bottle. Before I knew it, I was nodding off to sleep. When I woke up, my baby had turned black, and he was twisting his entire body. What in the world was happening?! This was 100 days after the birth of my first son, Myungsung (20, of 1st grade autistic mental retardation).
Since that time on, everything in my life changed. Myungsung had to be hospitalized for over six months in a year. He almost lived in the emergency room, growing ever older, year by year. I remember wishfully thinking every December, "If only this year would just disappear from my memory¡¦" with my eyes full of tears.
One day in 1997, when I lived in Muan Gun, Jeonnam Province, on our way back from the hospital, near the entrance to our apartment, I spotted a dropped leaflet with information about a Revival Meeting of Manmin Central Church. I came to know that the Muan Manmin Church was in Haeje Myeon. I immediately strapped my son into our car and visited the church, and this is when I began a life of faith.
I could listen to Senior Pastor Dr. Jaerock Lee's messages and receive his prayers through satellite TV at Muan Manmin Church, which is a branch church of Manmin Central Church. As I heard the messages and received his prayer, I felt truly alive. I previously thought my son's life was wretched, but this thought disappeared as I came to know about heaven and New Jerusalem, which is the best place in heaven. I became so happy when I thought of my son who will become beautiful and smart in heaven.
On Friday, my son and I went to Seoul and received Senior Pastor's prayer. Having no perception, my son was all over the place, was often exposed to dangerous situations. But little by little, he began to change.
When I moved to Seoul and started attending Manmin Central Church in 2004, instead of receiving hospital treatment, I had my son meet the Senior Pastor. I always had to be careful, because he had convulsions even with the slightest fever. I often took him to the Senior Pastor. While standing in line to receive the Senior Pastor's prayer, I could feel the fever leaving from Myungsung's hand. Even though he couldn't sleep for several days at a time, he was able to sleep after receiving the handkerchief prayer (Acts 19:11-12), or the Senior Pastor's prayer. Now, it's been a while since he had a fever or couldn't sleep. I'd like to confess that all of this is by the grace of God and the blessing of meeting the true shepherd.

The short-necked clam that Myungsung swallowed on last November 10, stuck in his neck

One day in November of 2005, I left home after making sure Myungsung was asleep. But when I came back, Myungsung's mouth was covered with blood, and he was trembling in great pain. When I opened his mouth I saw that his two front teeth were almost pulled out. The hospital recommended that he wear a brace and receive treatment until his teeth were firmly fixed in place. But on our way back home, he lost the brace and couldn't find it. I couldn't help but shed tears when I thought that my autistic son might lose his teeth, too. The only treatment was for him to wear the brace, but I knew well that this was impossible for my son.
So I went to the Senior Pastor and received his prayer with my son. Myungsung recovered, and his teeth were fixed without ever going to back to the hospital again.
On October 10, 2009, on the the eve of the church anniversary, Myungsung swallowed a short-necked clam while eating seafood noodle. When he had an X-ray taken at the emergency room of The Korea University Guro Hospital, we saw the clamshell spread wide open at the bottom of his neck. The hospital said that he should receive surgery. I received the Senior Pastor's prayer for the sick with my son through ARS (Automatic Response System) via cell phone and had him drink Muan Sweet Water. Suddenly, he coughed out the short-necked clam. The doctors and nurses in the emergency room said surprisingly, "This is unbelievable!" because it was impossible for such a thing to happen. My husband was also amazed and rejoiced. I give glory to God and give thanks to the Senior Pastor who always prays for us by harboring us in his heart.
Previously I was always nervous and uncomfortable thinking of my son, but now I am peaceful and happy with hope for heaven because the Lord always protects him.

Fw: 224-I Was Freed from My Online Gaming Addiction and Became the President of the Student's Sunday School

I Was Freed from My Online Gaming Addiction and Became the President of the Student's Sunday School

Dohoon Hong
(3rd grade, middle school mission of Student's Sunday School, Gimhae Manmin Church)

Six years ago, I went to Canada to study. It was not easy for me to adjust to life in the foreign country. There were no extra schooling institutions or tutoring academies like in Korea. And so I always sat in front of the computer and fell into worldly culture.
Even though I attended church, I was always more interested in playing computer games. And during my breaks from school, other than when I was eating, I spent most of my time playing games. I spent much more time on games than praying and reading the Bible. Even though I knew that playing games was no good for my life of faith, I continued to become more and more addicted to it.
In 2008, when I was in the second year of middle school, Deaconess Angela Yoosun Choi of Manmin Central Church came over to Canada to study language. She was the guidance teacher of the Students' Sunday School of Calgary Manmin Church. She showed a lot of care and love for us. She talked much about the Senior Pastor and what he said to the students. And she gave easy-to-understand explanations about the Bible. I liked her, and wanted to follow whatever she did. One day, she came over and sweetly said,
"You can quit playing games if you love God. How about discontinuing playing games to go to a better heaven?"
"What else can I do if I don't play games?"
"How about reading the Bible or listening to Dr. Jaerock Lee's sermons and reading his books with me?"
Since it was Deaconess Choi's recommendation, I decided to try. She kindly planted God's love and faith into my heart. My soul seemed to be renewed day by day. At first, it wasn't easy to stop playing games. But as I read the Bible, listened to the sermons, and prayed, God gave me the grace with which I could quit. Deaconess Choi read the Bible and Senior Pastor's books with me and taught me how to pray. Finally, I changed into a different student who did my homework and read the Bible and Senior Pastor's books instead of playing games. I quit playing games that I used to enjoy so much. My life was transformed with God's word and prayer.
Last June, I came back to Korea and met the Senior Pastor, whom I looked forward to meeting, and received much grace attending the Student's Summer Retreat. Now I am attending Busan Foreign School. Hoping for heaven, I wish to glorify God and bring joy to the Senior Pastor by studying well. On November 29, I was appointed as President of the Students' Sunday School of Gimhae Manmin Church. I am thankful for the love and grace of the Lord.
